The President of the Montenegrin Sports Academy (MSA), Prof. Dr. Duško Bjelica, announced that the institution and its European partners are fully prepared to host the scientific conference titled “Sport, Physical Activity, and Health – Modern Perspectives.” This prestigious event, now in its 22nd iteration, will be held for the sixth consecutive year in Cavtat, near the historic city of Dubrovnik.
“We extend our gratitude to the Faculties of Kinesiology from Zagreb and Osijek (Croatia), the Faculty of Sport from Ljubljana (Slovenia), and the Faculty of Science and Education (FPMOZ) from Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) for their trust in recognizing our institution as a reliable partner,” said Prof. Dr. Duško Bjelica, President of the MSA.
Bjelica, also an editor of internationally recognized scientific journals such as Sport Mont, indexed in the prestigious Scopus database, and the Montenegrin Journal of Sports Science and Medicine, indexed in the Web of Science (WOS), highlighted the journals’ status as the region’s most highly ranked in the field of sports science. These journals will feature contributions from esteemed researchers worldwide.
The conference will feature eight keynote speakers, including the already confirmed plenary lecturers:
- Prof. Dr. Robert Schneider (USA)
- Prof. Dr. Vjekoslav Cigrovski and Prof. Dr. Ivan Perić (Croatia)
- Prof. Dr. Janez Vodičar and Dr. Karmen Šibanc (Slovenia)
Additionally, the conference will host a specialized doctoral school and two engaging workshops. One workshop, organized by the Faculty of Sport from Ljubljana, is currently finalizing its lineup of speakers and relevant, cutting-edge topics.
This event promises to further strengthen scientific collaboration and promote innovative research in sports science, physical activity, and health.
