The European Sports Academy (ESA) brings together an international network of professors, researchers, editors, academic leaders, and sport professionals united by a common vision: strengthening cooperation in sport science, physical education, research, and higher education across Europe and beyond.
As the Academy begins its activities, our focus is on creating meaningful connections between institutions, researchers, educators, coaches, and organizations that share a commitment to scientific excellence, innovation, and lifelong learning. Through collaboration and knowledge exchange, ESA aims to contribute to the continued development of sport and physical education in both academic and practical environments.
The Academy is proud to be supported by an outstanding group of members representing universities, scientific institutions, research centers, and professional organizations from numerous countries. Their expertise spans a wide range of disciplines including sport science, physical education, biomechanics, kinesiology, coaching science, sport management, rehabilitation, sports medicine, pedagogy, psychology, and academic publishing.
These members have collectively authored hundreds of books and thousands of scientific publications, supervised doctoral candidates, led international research projects, edited scientific journals, and contributed significantly to the advancement of sport sciences worldwide. Their experience provides a strong foundation for the future work of the Academy.
During its initial phase, the European Sports Academy will focus on several key areas:
• Promoting international scientific cooperation and networking
• Supporting research and academic publishing in sport sciences
• Organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, and educational programs
• Encouraging collaboration between universities and sport organizations
• Supporting the professional development of researchers, teachers, coaches, and practitioners
• Contributing to innovation in physical education, sport performance, health, and rehabilitation
• Creating opportunities for young scholars and emerging professionals
The strength of the European Sports Academy lies in its people. The distinguished members presented here represent a diverse community of experts who share the belief that progress in sport depends on collaboration, evidence-based practice, and the exchange of knowledge across borders.
As we begin this journey, ESA remains committed to building a dynamic and inclusive professional community where ideas can be shared, partnerships can be formed, and new opportunities for research and education can emerge.
The Academy’s work is only beginning, but its mission is clear: to contribute to the advancement of sport science, physical education, and international cooperation while supporting the next generation of researchers, educators, and sport professionals.
Together, we are creating a platform where science, education, and sport can work hand in hand to shape the future.
