CEEPUS doctoral school
As members of the scientific community, it is our duty to ensure that our research is conducted in a manner that is both ethical and effectively communicated to the public. Although publishing scientific papers can be intimidating, with proper instruction, organizing and disseminating research can be a gratifying and influential undertaking. It is crucial to recognize that achieving publication is not the sole objective; it is equally important to adhere to guidelines pertaining to authorship and contribution to ensure the legitimacy of the scientific method.

PhD programs typically ask students to publish a paper or multiple papers in scientific journals as a mandatory requirement. Once a student graduates, the career of a researcher or a professor requires regular publishing in scientific journals. The higher the rank of the journal the better. However, this is often viewed (or even taught) as a complicated, near-impossible process that contains many rules, which often makes it intimidating (and sometimes frustrating) for students (and often post-student career). However, this is only the case when it is taught as such. Publishing, especially regular publishing, should be more about sharing the insights from the results we got by testing our ideas. Communicating ideas effectively requires training and discipline. The rules (methodology, author guidelines, journal requirements, etc.) are there to help us shape and sort our thought processes so we can communicate an idea clearly and precisely.
