The Montenegrin Sports Academy has presented the Award for International Promotion of Sports Science to the head coach of the Croatian national football team, Zlatko Dalić, in recognition of his longstanding professional achievements and the impact he has made on European and global sport.
The award was presented in Podgorica by the President of the Montenegrin Sports Academy, Prof. Dr Duško Bjelica, who emphasized that Dalić’s professional approach and accomplishments have significantly contributed to the development of sport and the advancement of sports science.
Dalić expressed his gratitude and noted that he will gladly take part in our academic activities whenever his professional commitments allow. He also highlighted the importance of our scientific publications, including the Montenegrin Journal of Sports Science and Medicine (MJSSM), indexed in the Web of Science, and SportMont, indexed in Scopus.
In recent years, the Montenegrin Sports Academy has hosted a series of international scientific conferences in Cavtat near Dubrovnik. At the most recent conference, held in April, the decision was made to present this award to Dalić. His achievements—winning silver and bronze medals at the FIFA World Cup and a silver medal in the UEFA Nations League—stand as testament to his exceptional contribution to modern sport.
The presentation of this award marks another meaningful step in strengthening connections among sports professionals, researchers, and prominent figures across the region and beyond.
